An 11-day tourism festival opens here Friday in Xi'tang, an ancient town in east China's Zhejiang province.
The town, a typical, elegant coastal village in China, boasts several well-preserved ancient architectural styles from the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), including traditional building structures, bridges, lanes, and folk arts.
The town became a famous scenic destination after its first tourism festival in 1998.
This year's festival will consist of traditional tours in the town, trade conferences and a display of folk music, lamps and flowers.
The town received more than 350,000 tourists in the first six months of the year, double that in the same period last year.
