The number of Chinese tourists in Thailand is expected to increase by 20 percent this year, earning the country around 20 billion baht(454 million U.S.dollars)in revenue, according to a report of the Thai Farmers Research Center(TFRC) available in Bangkok recently`.

A big flower garden will soon emerge in China's "Shangri-La", a legendary picturesque tourist attraction located in Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, in southwest China's Yunnan province.

South China's Guangdong Province will intensify its efforts to provide high-quality water here and to neighbouring Hong Kong, a water resources official said recently.

New Air Route from Haikou to Singapore Opens
Using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, China's Hainan Airlines has introduced a non-stop three times weekly service between Haikou and Singapore.

Chinese archaeologists have excavated the largest and best preserved cultural ruins of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) in the Three Gorges reservoir areas.

Donations from home and abroad for the renovation of the Mausoleum of Huangdi (or the Yellow Emperor), the legendary founder of the Chinese nation, increased by 9 million yuan (about US$1.08 million dollars) at a ceremony held Thursday, bringing the total donation to 70 million yuan.

Beijing launches campaign to curb air pollution
Beijing recently launched a nine-month campaign to rid the city of air pollution.
The main tasks include bringing suspended particles under control and reducing discharge of contaminants by a big margin, according to sources from the Municipal Bureau of Environmental Protection.
It is expected that 55 per cent of days this year will reach Grade-2 on the air pollution index or better than the standard, five percentage points higher than last year.
