◆ Chinese student sells future service for 100,000 yuan

Chen Long, a Chinese college student bound for Germany to further study, has been given 100,000 yuan RMB (125,000 US dollars) by a company in northeast China's Dalian on the condition he work for them after graduation.

Chen Long is one of 15 students in his university who have been admitted to a German university, according to the Beijing Morning Post. The newspaper didn't give the name of the Chinese university where Chen Long studied.

From a poor farming family, Chen Long was worried about the large sum of money required as a visa deposit.

In order to raise the money, Chen Long first advertised his "future prospects" on the internet. Then he turned to businesses hoping that some enterprise would "pay now" for future work. In return for money, Chen promised to work for the enterprise for two to three years after graduating in Germany.

Chen started selling his potential skills on July 12. Many enterprises were impressed by his idea but were worried about the uncertainty in five years.

An exhibition service company in Dalian decided to support Chen Long. Li Qiong, board chairperson of the company, said the "transaction" is very profitable. "The 100,000 yuan will enable Chen Long to realize his dream of studying abroad and will hopefully bring advanced experience from Germany back to my company," said Li.
