◆ Fujian Delivers Crashed Plane Wreckage to Taiwan

The Fujian Provincial Red Cross Society delivered some aircraft wreckage and belongings of people who died in the plane crash on May 25 to its counterpart in Taiwan at a ceremony held in Fuzhou on June 17.

A total of 12 items including four aircraft tyres, two plane parts, a suitcase and a bag were delivered.

He Zhongsheng, secretary-general of the Fujian Provincial Red Cross Society, said people in all walks of life on the Chinese mainland had shown their grave concern over the accident.

The China Airlines Boeing 747-200 CI-611 crashed off Penghu Islands, killing all 225 passengers and crew aboard.

Fujian Province had sent 200 vessels to search for victims. To date, they had retrieved 12 bodies and 19 plane parts. All the bodies and seven plane parts had been delivered by Fujian fishers to relevant authorities in Taiwan.

He said that Fujian would continue the search and would return what it found to Taiwan.
