The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government announced Monday that confirmation has been received from the Consulate-General of Colombia that the Republic of Colombia has granted visa-free access to HKSAR passport holders for a visit up to 180 days per calendar year with immediate effect.
A HKSAR government spokesman extended warm welcome to the decision made by the government of the Republic of Colombia. "It marks a vote of confidence by the Republic of Colombia in our immigration control under the 'one country, two systems' arrangement," the spokesman said.
"This is a further achievement in our efforts to enhance travelconvenience for HKSAR passport holders," the spokesman added.
The Republic of Colombia is the 105th country which agrees to grant visa-free access for HKSAR passport holders. At present, nationals of the Republic of Colombia may visit Hong Kong visafree up to three months.(xinhua)
