Name: Project 10 Port Related Industrial Co-operative/Management Project

Type: Qingdao Port Construction.

Content: Port of Qingdao values development of sideline industries while making efforts to develop its principal businesses. Now the port has a port polytechnic school, a port hospital,a travel agency,a shipping agency,an insurance agency, a cargo agency and a container maintenance depot.During the ?Tenth Five-year plan?,Port of Qingdao will make use of the existing resources and prepare to establish a senior occupational technical college to enlarge the existing educational scale and provide mare talents for enterprises.IT will implement a ?medical renown?project,restructure the inpatient and outpatient departments and accelerate the development of a medical center in the east.To open up more business space,it will devote efforts to develop foreign shipping supplies on the basis of domestic shipping supplies. Name: Project 9 Large Port Special Machinery Manufacturing

Type: Qingdao Port Construction.

Content: Qingdao Port Machinery Factory is a specialized port machinery maker with a history of over 40 years.To meet the port development needs and get more market shares in North China, a large machinery manufacturing project centering the development of container loading and unloading bridges will be constructed on the basis of the existing production scale and technical power of Port of Qingdao Machinery Factory.

1.Introduction to the project

Port of Qingdao Machinery Factory borders jiaozhou Bay in the west and links the Qinghuang Expressway ,with fixed assets of RMB33.2 million. There are 12 senior engineers and senior technicians,and 35 engineers in the factory. Equipped with advanced designing and processing strength and a perfect service system , it owns the only port machinery-designing institute in China.Accredited with the ISO quality certificate in 1997,the factory produces container tire-type gantry cranes,screw unloaders,belt conveyers and various grab buckets.

Considering that the domestic demand for container loading and unloading bridges grows at a speed of 35% per year,the project will face a large potential market in the future .According to the development plan,a 100,000-sauare-meter production and installation base will be constructed on the basis of the existiong facilities in the Old Port or the NEW Port area, making it the first container loading and unloading bridge manufacturer in North China.

Name: Project 8 International Passenger Transportation Center launching/Management Project

Type: Qingdao Port Construction.

Content: Qingdao International Passenger Transportation Center (?Center? for short) is a real estate project jointly undertaken by Qingdao Port Authority and an overseas partner.It consists of a combined inspection building,a high-grade sea-facing office building,a hotel , an apartment building and a large shopping center.As one of the key projects in Qingdao,the Center can offer a complete variety of services such as commercial residence,tourist services,recreation & leisure,shopping,conference,exhibition and offices.

1.Introduction to the project

The Center ,located in the old port area of one of the five major ports in China-Port of Qingdao,which is known as a ?garden-like?port,is a modern comprehensive building.It is composed of two 158m turrets and other annexes,and has a total floor space of 117,000 square meters.As an other annexes,and has a total floor space of 117,000 square meters.As an intelligent modern building, it is designed by the First Desibning Institute with the Ministry of Machinery Industry of China Construction General NO.8 Construct Bureau under the China Construction General Corporation. The main part of the project was completed on September 20,1996.Now the outer wall has been faced with furring bricks and facilities including water supply and sewage,fire prevention and central air conditioning have been basically completed.

After comletion ,the Center will have 42,400 square meters of high-grade offices,19594 square meters of five-star-lever apartments,22,000 square meters of shopping floorage,6,000 square meters of parking area and other accessory facilities.

Name: Project 7 Grain Import Base Management Project

Type: Qingdao Port Construction.

Content: After China?£¤s accession to the WTO,the grain import will grow ,it is estimated that the grain throughput of Port of Qingdao will reach 3 million tons by 2005.The construction of the grain terminal will enhance the grain handling capability and maintain Port of Qingdao?£¤s position as the largest bult grain import base along the Yellow River Basin

1.Introduction to the project

Based on the reconstruction of the No.1 and No.2 wharves of the Old port, a 280m long and 14m deep 50,000t bulk grain loading and unloading berth and a 100,000t bulk grain ware house were built in December 2001. Mechanical operation was available there with the help of automatic operating facilities controlled by computers.The annual handling capability of the berth is 3 million tons .About 45,000 square meters of land needs to be backfilled for the stockpile yard.
