The Bank of China signed a cooperation contract of 12 billion yuan (about 1.45 billion U.S. dollars) with the China Eastern Airlines (CEA) on March 29 and promised to grant a separate loan of 200 million U.S. dollars.
It is the second time in a week the CEA has received credit support from domestic banks.
On March 25, the airlines signed a contract worth 17.6 billion yuan (about 2.12 billion U.S. dollars) with the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.
The first listed company in China's civil aviation sector, the CEA owns more than 70 large and medium-sized aircraft produced by the Airbus and the Boeing companies.
Its 2,200 weekly flights on more than 200 domestic and international routes cover most of the world including Asia, Europe and the Americas.
