 ◆ Over 50 Million Tourists Travel During Spring Festival Holiday

During this year's Spring Festival vacation 51.58 million tourists traveled around China, 14.7 percent more than during the same period last year.

According to the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), the total income from tourism was 22.8 billion yuan, up 15 percent on last year. The tourists spent 1.28 billion yuan on airline transportation and 1.18 billion yuan on railway transportation.

A CNTA official says this year the tourism market was better organised and services improved. Reasonable prices and different types of entertainment have satisfied the varied needs and expectations of tourists.
