 ◆ Qingdao to stage int'l fashion show

East China's Qingdao City will host an international fashion week in September this year, Qingdao assistant mayor Sun Jiashun announced here recently.

Activities during the fashion week would include an international exhibition of garments and adornments, a display of works by world-renowned designers, trade talks on international name brand products, and high-level seminars.

The fashion show will present a total of 1,100 exhibition stands.

Nearly 400 domestic and overseas enterprises participated in the Qingdao fashion week last year, with transactions totaling 3. 69 billion yuan (444.58 million US dollars).

The scenic port city of Qingdao is the venue for numerous international activities, including a beer festival, an exhibition of electronic household appliances and a marine festival.
