 ◆ Railways, Travel Agencies Ready for National Day Holiday

As China's National Day holiday draws near, railway stations and travel agencies throughout the country are ready to meet the transportation and tourism peak. Railway stations will add temporary passenger trains to transport more than two million people during the holiday period. Additional carriages will also be added to some heavily trafficked lines. Prices for some less?¨º?-traveled runs will be cut by 30 percent to ease traffic elsewhere. Ticket offices will extend their opening hours. Travel agencies have added some special travel packages to Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea and some European countries. Tourists registered for these routes have increased by 20 percent year?¨º?-on?¨º?-year. For some domestic lines, travel agencies have created a new service, self?¨º?-guided tours. Instead of the traditional package tours, travel agencies provide rental cars and travel tips for families so they can vacation wherever they like.
