 ◆ Shanghai City to Unveil Old-style Park Near Yuyuan Garden

The work will finish on a 7.4-hectare park the Yuyuan Garden resort designed to preserve the beauty and old flavor of the Yuyuan Commercial Center,Shanghai Morning News reported.

The park is located on the southern section of the Renmin Road in Huangpu District.

The park is believed to largely improve the landscape in the area since it will provide a natural link between the Bund and the Yuyuan resort.With the removal of high-rises and other buildings in the site there is a broad view of the Lujiazui Zone on the other side of the Huangpu River,from the highest points in Yuyuan Garden and the new park.

The park will feature a character in harmony with the Yuyuan Garden and will preserve old facilities of historical values inside.It's the only old-style park among the five large free public parks to be finished this year in the city.

The park required a total of more than 200 families and dozens of work units to relocate.
