 ◆ US Airline, CITIC Join Hands in Finance Services

US-based Northwest Airlines signed an agreement on March 4 in Beijing with the CITIC Industrial Bank of China to jointly provide travel and finance services to Chinese tourists. According to the agreement, those who apply for CITIC's overseas study financial services will become Northwest Airlines' "frequent travellers" and enjoy the company's mileage award. This is the first time that foreign have airlines aligned themselves with domestic banks to promote finance and travel services. A senior official with Northwest Airlines said CITIC's large overseas study service customer group was the biggest attraction.
