 ◆ Yellow River Waterfall Becomes Geological Park

The Hukou waterfall on the Yellow River on the border of Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces has become a national geological park upon recent approval by the Ministry of Land and Resources.

The Hukou waterfall is formed when the 500 meter-wide river is forced into a 50-meter bed and falls 20 meters off a steep cliff.

The waterfall geological park covers an area of 45 square kilometers.
